Rogers confirm July 30 as the official release date for iPhone 4

A little bit late compared to other Canadian carriers, Rogers as announced earlier this morning that the date of July 30 is now official! Why did they waited so long before announcing the release date that everyone already knew? Maybe some sort of dissagrement with Apple over the pricing or contract between the two companies…

We are still investigaiting to find out the pricing/plans of the 3 major carriers.

  • Help me out here guys.
I’ve moved from the Netherlands on the 4th of January and brought my iPhone 3GS with me. iPhone was sim-lock free so I only needed a sim-card from Rogers. Got myself a 1 yr plan.
I’m eligible for a hardware upgrade to the iPhone 4 so what to do?
Buy the iPhone from Apple and get a mini-sim from Rogers for the remaining time of my contract or buy it from Rogers, get it subsidized and get a three yr contract?
Again… system works different in the Netherlands so I do not know if in the long terrn it would be cheaper to get a new three yr contract and receive a subsidized phone or buy a separate iPhone and renew my contract at the beginning of 2011.

    Thanks for the help

    Roland
